Given south east Asia's popularity as a backpacking route, a large number of you reading this is planning on travelling in Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, and Thailand for a few weeks or months.

There is a lot of sorrow to contend with when travelling in south east Asia, but there is an awful lot of joy to be found too. This blog will show some of the highlights in Vietnam.

There is a wide variety of choices when it comes to transport. During my first week in Vietnam, I travelled independently and took a pre-booked tuk-tuk, two medium-distance buses, motorbikes, and four boats between the islands and the mainland.

Not a single one left on time.

Not a single one arrived on time.

Not a single one took the amount of time we were advised upon when booking.
